Member for Kurrajong, Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs, Minister for Children, Youth and Families and Minister for Health.
ACT Government services make a real difference in people's lives whether it's in the day-to-day things like maintaining parks and footpaths, big projects like building light rail, critical services like schools and hospitals, or the complex work of supporting children and families who are doing it tough. After more than 20 years in public policy, I know that good government is driven by clear values, sound evidence and strong community engagement.
I’ve been proud to serve our community as a Minister in the ACT Government for the last four years. I’ve been particularly focused on improving the lives of some of the most vulnerable groups in our population. But there is always more to do.
As Minister for Health, it has been a privilege to see the professionalism and commitment of our public service shine through in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I understand that sustainable and inclusive cities don’t just happen, they are built by people and governments with a vision for a better future. I hope I’ll have the privilege of continuing to work for our community as part of a Labor Government and as a genuine, strong and progressive voice for the heart of Canberra.
