Nominate a champion for a Chief Minister’s Inclusion Award

June 25, 2019

Nominations are now open for the 2019 ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards, recognising and celebrating individuals and organisations that make Canberra even more inclusive for people with a disability.

The Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards provide an annual acknowledgement and celebration of the outstanding achievements of businesses, organisations and individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to encourage, welcome and support people with disability in their workplace, business and community.

The awards will acknowledge leaders across four categories:

  • Recognising people with disability who are leaders in inclusion;
  • excellence and innovation in inclusion and access;
  • achieving inclusion through supporting the independence and wellbeing of people with disability; and
  • championing rights protection and justice.

An overarching Award for Excellence is selected from award recipients. Last year, Rebus Theatre received the Award for Excellence for their ‘Open Doors, Open Minds’ project.

We encourage you to nominate the people, organisations or businesses that you know have demonstrated their commitment to welcoming and supporting people with disability.

These awards are an example of the ACT Government’s ongoing commitment to making Canberra the most inclusive and accessible city in Australia, where people of all abilities are given the opportunity to engage fully in their community.
