ACT Children's Week 2019

Children’s Week is a time to celebrate the rights, talents and abilities of children all over the world. The week acknowledges the right of every child to enjoy childhood, to be happy, healthy and safe.

ACT Children’s Week 2019 will be held from Saturday 19 to Sunday 27 October. Universal Children’s Day is celebrated on Wednesday, 23 October.

There’s a number of events activities happening across the ACT for Children’s Week, a great opportunity for you and your family to get involved!

Kids of Kurrajong Community BBQ

Join me at community barbecues in the inner north and inner south to celebrate Children's Week.

It will be a great opportunity for our community to connect and catch-up. There will be a free barbecue and lots of creative activities for the kids.

Kids Yoga class for ACT Children’s Week

Wednesday, 23 October 2019 5.30pm

This class is designed for primary school aged children and parents are encouraged to use this time for self-care. Spend 45 minutes together learning about breath through play, discovery and mindful movement.

 

ACT Children's Week Launch and Awards Ceremony

Wednesday, 23 October 11.30am – 1.pm. Theo Notaras Centre, 180 London Circuit.

A celebration of children and youth. See and hear the stories of inspiring community groups, organisations, adults and children who receive awards for their contributions to children and others.

Belconnen Community Centre Children's Week Celebration

Thursday, 24 October 2019 10am – 12pm 

Children aged between 0-5 years old, along with their families and carers are invited to come and enjoy a morning filled with fun activities.

We will have craft, messy and active play activities set up for you and your families to enjoy.

There will also be a reading corner and morning tea.
