Canberra is the national focus city for NAIDOC Week 2019, providing an opportunity for all Canberrans to come together in recognition and celebration of the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s theme Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let’s work together for a shared future reflects three key elements to the reforms set out in the Uluru Statement from the Heart. The theme acknowledges that for generations Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have sought to be the leaders and decision makers of their own lives and futures.
